SUPER BOYS & SAD GIRLS

I am interested in toys and how they relate to gender. The process through which the individual learns and accepts roles is called socialization, which works by encouraging wanted and discouraging unwanted behavior. These sanctions by agents of socialization such as the family, schools, and the media make it clear to the child what is expected of him by society.

I wanted to focus on these toys, which will represent both genders, pushing it even further to deconstruct them: later these dolls start to play a stereotypical role in men’ world in which woman’s naked body is exposed to sexual attractiveness. Consequently, I used pixels’ art technique in the girls' world to cover dolls naked bodies.

This world is such a construction, that when being attracting to each other men play the game of super heroes (beneficial, severe) and women play the game of dolls (negative, minor). The elements of convention or tradition seem to play a dominant role in deciding which gender roles fit in with. The extent to which he or she must modify his or her natural behavior to conform to society's accepted behavioral standards as expected socialized behavioral norm, or his or her behavior traits become part of his or her perceived responsibilities.
